The Cheesecake Factory has fallen behind others in the food industry by still using only eggs from caged hens.
Many major food companies already have cage-free egg polices. Burger King, Denny's, Quiznos, Carl's Jr., and Hardee's use cage-free eggs. Compass Group, the world's largest food service company, is phasing in cage-free eggs for all of its 8,500 U.S. clients. The House of Representatives, NASA, AOL, Google, National Institutes of Health, and Microsoft all use cage-free eggs in their cafeterias. And more than 350 schools across the country have switched to - or are increasing their use of - cage-free eggs.
