The Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act
The Cheesecake Factory buys eggs from hens confined in cages so cruel they've been made illegal in the company's home state of California.
This past Election Day, Californians passed in a landslide vote the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, making it a criminal offense by 2015 to confine hens in battery cages. The measure passed with an overwhelming 63.5% of the vote and received more votes than any citizen initiative in the state's history. But The Cheesecake Factory's eggs come from hens who are stuffed into these cruel and inhumane cages.
